Visit of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia to Cleangrad
This week, the President of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia, Marko Lotrič, accompanied by National Councillor David Klobasa, National Councillor Jasmina Opec Vöröš, and the Secretary-General Dr. Monika Kirbiš Rojs, visited our company as part of a regional visit to the Pomurje region and Slovenske gorice. The delegation was welcomed at Cleangrad by the company’s director and co-owner, Jernej Zupančič, and his wife, Kornelija Zupančič, who is the company’s procurement director. The Mayor of the Municipality of Ljutomer, Mag. Olga Karba, also joined the visit.
On this occasion, Director Jernej Zupančič presented the history, operations, and achievements of Cleangrad to the delegation, and we also gave them a tour of our showroom.
The discussion focused on the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, including workforce shortages due to demographic trends and wage disparities with neighboring Austria, obstacles to expansion caused by bureaucratic hurdles and political misunderstanding, as well as increasing tax burdens. The importance of good cooperation and support from the local community for the company’s development was also emphasized.
During the visit, President of the National Council Marko Lotrič shared his impressions with the following words: “Companies want to employ local people and offer them good wages. They want work to pay off; they want the state to listen to them in a way that enables mayors to continue leading their municipalities effectively. And most importantly, they want regions—regions that will serve the people.”
